Jelly Bean’s story began on Good Friday, 2010. A lamb was born in Pfafftown, North Carolina and to everyone’s dismay her mother would not nurse her. Her birth came at a time of uncertainty: recession, massive unemployment and conflict around the world. Neighbors and friends saw her as a sign of hope and joy. Many people stepped up to nurture this lamb both physically and emotionally.
As Jelly Bean grew, she faced many changes in her life and began a journey to find her special place, a place she would be safe and loved. Two neighbors, Renee’ Pappas and Jane Edwards, developed a friendship and determination to help this lamb grow healthy and strong and thus became her “flock”.
As they supported Jelly Bean through the changes her life involved, they felt her story needed to be shared. All of us, whether young or older, are looking for our “special place”. To share Jelly Bean’s story, they formed Jelly Bean & Company and self- published Jelly Bean Finds Her Special Place. The book follows Jelly Bean with actual photographs beginning within minutes of her birth through her current life on Woosley Farm.
Wayne and Riely Woosley are both retired teachers. They have opened their farm for school tours. The farm has a select group of farm 
animals for the children to interact with, pet and feed. This would be the perfect place for Jelly Bean! The Woosleys agreed to give Jelly Bean a home. Here she gets to follow Mr. Woosley as he works around the farm as long as she stays out of the garden and away from the grape vines. The whole neighborhood knows her by name and she has many companions. Jelly Bean is in her special place and hopes each of you will find your “special place” too.
